From the packed-out rooms of our beloved grassroots venues to the main stages at SWX and the O2, it feels like every corner of the city is alive with sound. The student population is starting to return, bringing that fresh, chaotic energy that always fuels the scene's fire as we head towards winter.
This week’s releases perfectly mirror that intensity. We’ve been hit with one of the most anticipated jungle tracks of the year—a proper Bristol-centric collaboration—alongside vital new post-punk and some seriously deep cuts from the city's electronic underground. It was a week that celebrated both the scene's heritage and its future, proving that Bristol's musical ecosystem is as healthy and innovative as ever. Time to plug in and catch up.

Concrete Rhythms EP – Ossia
A master of Bristol's experimental, bass-weighted scene, Ossia returns with a formidable EP on the local 'Livity Sound' label. This is the sound of the city's industrial spaces—raw, percussive, and drenched in dub echoes. It's challenging, physical music that demands to be played on a high-fidelity sound system.

"Last Bus Home" Single – Minor Conflict
Emerging art-rock outfit Minor Conflict dropped a beautifully melancholic new single this week. "Last Bus Home" is a string-laden, atmospheric track that showcases the band's dynamic range and lyrical depth. They’re quickly becoming one of the city's most exciting new live acts, and this release shows exactly why.

"Maia Maia" Single – Nia Archives & Clipz
It's finally here! After a week of intense hype, the jungle collaboration of the year has landed. Rising superstar Nia Archives teams up with Bristol D&B legend Clipz for a track that is pure, unadulterated energy. Fusing a classic Brazilian sample with blistering breakbeats, this is an instant classic and a massive moment for UK dance music.

Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky Album – Porridge Radio
While the album has been out for a while, its presence was felt heavily in Bristol this week as the band played a massive show at SWX on the 18th. Their cathartic, emotionally raw post-punk resonated perfectly with the city's musical spirit. Revisiting this incredible album ahead of the gig was a must.

Live at The Louisiana – The Wytches
Brighton's purveyors of scuzzy psych-rock, The Wytches, brought their ferocious live show to the hallowed stage of The Louisiana on September 17th. It was a night of pure, sweaty, guitar-driven chaos. For anyone who missed it, diving into their KEXP session on YouTube is the next best thing to being there.

"The Way I Are" (Timbaland Cover) – Bears in Trees
Something a little different to round out the week. South London indie band Bears in Trees, who have a huge Bristol following, dropped a surprise cover of this 2000s classic. Released on YouTube, their fun, energetic take is a perfect slice of pop-punk joy that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
