This week’s Bristol release pile moves across drum & bass, jungle, alt-pop, experimental electronics, folk-leaning psychedelia, chilled summer cuts and some properly strange Bandcamp corners. Kublai links with Kathryn Brenna for the standout Sofa Sound release of the week, TJA brings a warm late-June glow, Emily Magpie continues the build around howl, and the Bandcamp section digs into Elastic Furniture Label, Mild Peril, Alpha’s Trip, Ransaked Records and more.
Kublai returns to Sofa Sound Bristol, this time alongside vocalist Kathryn Brenna, for Only If You Want Me To. It is a strong pick for Release of the Week: polished, emotive drum & bass with clean low-end and a vocal focus that feels club-ready without losing musical detail.
A sharp Bristol D&B entry and one of the clearest standouts of the week.
TJA “Baby Angel”
TJA’s Baby Angel brings a real chilled summer feel to the week. It sits in a softer, melodic lane than the heavier D&B and club cuts around it, with a warm, easygoing atmosphere that feels instantly playlist-friendly.
TJA is one to watch, and this one has the right late-June glow: light, relaxed and full of warmth.
Patsy Delve “Burning Memory”
Patsy Delve’s Burning Memory appears on LIPSTICK CRIMINAL MOONLIGHT through Bristol’s Elastic Furniture Label. Experimental, devotional and pop-adjacent, it sits in a strange and atmospheric space.
Phantom Droid “Dungeon”
Phantom Droid are a Bristol-based experimental doom two-piece known for low tunings and hypnotic rhythms. The linked track belongs in the heavy, slow-burning corner of the week: doom-laden, physical and atmospheric.
Escape Square “Yard Sale”
Escape Square’s Yard Sale lands as a Bandcamp oddity with a loose, playful title and a DIY feel. Off-centre, compact and one of the week’s more curious independent finds.
Fidget “Here For You”
Fidget’s Here For You brings a more direct and emotionally open moment to the Bandcamp list. It reads as one of the warmer selections of the week.
Cosmic Angst “Orb I”
